"Yet I Still Dare To Hope!"

It is with a super heavy heart that I write this post..... The short story is that our adoption match fell through and we no longer get the privilege to parent that sweet baby girl. Our hearts are completely broken, but we trust that God has a plan that is much bigger than we can imagine in this moment.

We have spent the last few weeks since getting matched decorating, buying baby clothes, celebrating, and getting ready to be parents. We are so thankful for the love and support we found from everyone! We were so blown away by peoples' generosity of funds, baby supplies, prayers, and support! We jumped in the car friday afternoon after a long week away on a work trip to start our adventure to bring home baby Trygg. On Saturday evening, we got a devastating call that the birth mom had suddenly changed her mind and had decided to parent. We were obviously shocked and broken hearted, and it is so hard to not question what went wrong. Even though right now we are broken, we know that God has a plan and it will be amazing.

We are so thankful for the love and support we have received the past couple days. We appreciate your continued prayers as we walk through this time. We are continuing the adoption process, hopeful and excited to see what God has in store for our family.

WE HAVE MATCHED!!!!

We are SO EXCITED to share with you that we are officially matched with a baby due MAY 22nd!! 

This past week as been a whirlwind of emotions. We presented last week to a situation, that we really felt God calling us to. I felt so good about the entire thing and I really truly thought that this was our time to be picked! I was nervous, but excited to hear the mom's decision on Monday morning. After several hours my phone buzzed and I saw the text that the birth mom had picked a different family. My heart sunk and ached with pain from the loss of my dream of what could have been.

On Tuesday, our hearts still really hurt. We saw a new situation that sounded perfect, but I could not let myself get excited. It just seemed too good to be true. I got a text that Thursday night the mom would receive families profile books. I struggle with patience, so I quickly responded "so I should expect to wait a few days before hearing anything?" Thursday night was totally normal, we went shopping at costco and came home to eat dinner and watch TV. Super uneventful and kind of boring.... then my phone rang! I was immediately worried because it had only been a few hours. That is when we found out that the birth mom PICKED US to be the parents of her sweet baby that is due to arrive on May 22nd! That means that in about 2 weeks we will have a baby in our arms.

We humbly ask you to consider doing two things:

1) PRAY: This has been an amazing journey, but it is not over! Please begin to pray for us, for the birth mom, and the sweet baby.
2) Consider Giving: We have been saving, and fundraising to make this dream a reality! Because the baby is due SO soon we only have a couple weeks to get the rest of the money together.  Adoption is an amazing gift, and we feel so blessed to journey through it, but the financial side is scary. We are trusting in God that He will provide and we could use your help!
